Ovlo is a band from Allentown, PA. Vocalist Jayme, guitarists Joey Nova and A.J., bassist “Meat”, and drummer Cody came together to bring you a mix between Alt-Metal, contemporary, and radio friendly hard rock. Some of their influences include System of A Down, Tool, Mastodon, Metallica, Faith No More, and Lamb of God. In May 2011 Ovlo signed to Medical Records and released their debut full length album “The Difference Between Excuse and Reason” summer of 2011. This style of music definitely catches your attention and is said that listening to Ovlo “will make you 32% more attractive” and research has shown that listening to them “will make your car go 53.2 mph faster.” I had the privilege of seeing these guys on stage and the energy that they release to the crowd is amazing! The sound that they present to the audience is 126.85% going to make you keep coming back for more. Their sound also attracts listeners of all types of music, even if you like the Backstreet Boys, Puff Daddy, or Rascal Flatts you will be entertained by the sound that Ovlo brings. Not only is their music awesome, but I sat and interviewed them and they are very real, down to earth guys that although they are enjoying living “the rock life,” they take their music very seriously. And their passion and dedication shows in the quality of their music. My favorite song is Bebop (track 3) on the CD “The Difference Between Excuse and Reason.” When I asked the guys what the song was about, they told me.....(to put it lightly) it is about an ex-girlfriend that does more for her current “boyfriend” than she ever did for him.
